Wind Energy Projects

As the possibility of viable wind power becomes a reality, more and more wind energy projects are popping up all over the country. This is especially true of states that occupy the “wind corridor” that makes up most of the central part of America. The predictable high winds in this area of the country have given it the most potential as a source of large-scale wind power.

Kansas is one of the country’s leaders when it comes to wind energy projects. Currently, the state boasts an impressive seven wind farms, with dozens more being proposed. These wind farms are being used to generate hundreds of megawatts of electricity, and doing so in an environmentally responsible manner.

Wind energy projects aren’t limited to land-based wind farms. Offshore wind projects are also showing a great deal of potential for electricity production. The Cape Wind project in the Nantucket Sound is an excellent example of this type of project.
